Our Founders
Margaret, a distinguished 23-year industry veteran in the Retail Lumber & Building Material sector and a certified Building Material Specialist, holds a wealth of experience and a deep passion for building science. Starting her career at Ridgefield Supply Company, a family business in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Margaret ascended to leadership in 2011, significantly modernizing the company to address evolving building material needs. Her accomplishments have earned her several awards, including the Young Retailer of the Year in 2005 and the honor of being one of the ProSales/KOMA Four Under 40 in 2015, notably the only woman to achieve this recognition that year. In 2019, the Lumber Association of Connecticut named her the Lumberperson of the Year, echoing the recognition her father received two decades prior.
Margaret's strategic vision led her to sell Ridgefield Supply Company to US LBM in 2020, foreseeing the trend of industry consolidation post-COVID. She is now poised to launch Turnkey Exteriors in 2024, aiming to utilize her expertise to enhance the sustainability of older homes through energy-efficient solutions. Her commitment to excellence, education, and innovation has significantly impacted the industry standards in customer service and community involvement.
Relocating to Boulder County, Colorado, in 2024 with her husband, Nick, and their three children, Margaret continues to embody a balance of professional achievement and personal passion. An avid lifelong equestrian, her spirited and adventurous persona complements her dedication to building a sustainable future in both her personal life and professional endeavors.
An entrepreneur at heart, the transition from Technical Writer in a manufacturing start-up to entering the world of home restoration came easily for Janet when she married her husband and best friend, Everett.
